Truth About Organic Skincare Products
Truth About Organic Skincare Products
I’ve always been on a quest to understand Skincare since childhood. My mom, who moved here from Holland in her 20s, had always used what she would consider Organic, Natural skincare. Every organic oil from our cupboard was put on our food and on our bodies. Skincare was always my passion. I couldn’t figure out why we needed all these expensive creams and lotions with long confusing ingredients and fragrances that broke me out in hives upon contact. Also, being an eczema and allergy sufferer from birth, half the products out there scared me and made my skin worse, including cortisone. So, being the inquisitive gal that I am, I decided to take my questions on the road and find out what organic skincare really was. I thought if I were ever to learn about organic, I had to go back in time and see how the natives did it. I called my adventure, “Beauty secrets from around the world”. I went all over, solo usually, and asked everyone and anyone questions about beauty and what natural products they used. I heard it all:- Ear wax for lip balm
- Combining animal fat (tallow) with lye to make soap, etc.
- Insects for lip coloring
- Snails on the face
- Butter (which can go rancid quickly)
- Led & Malachite
- Animal feces & Urine
